Childish Major has been pushing out releases consecutively following his brief hiatus back in 2017. He made a big bang with 11 track effort, Dirt Road Diamonds (2019). Then emerged further with his contribution to Dreamville’s Revenge of The Dreamers III, which garnered a Grammy nomination.
Now, Major is back with a self-produced track titled “Dem Know,” which features dancehall/rap recording artist, BEAM. The song ultimately showcases Major’s and BEAM’s lyrical prowess, proving that the two have got rap excellence down pat. Major even shouts out Dreamville signee, Bas as well. Between the lines and boom-bap/dancehall-inspired backdrop, he speaks on ‘putting his grind in check.’ He’s in this predicament of success, thanks to his hard work. One notable lyric goes, “If you tired now, it’s going to be a long year.”
The visual, however, is takes of Major driving around with friends, rapping hard bars in a purple-tinted room, and walking on a Chinese store’s counter-top, to name a few. As it progresses, viewers will get a glimpse of Major’s crowd of fans, chanting (with no audio) for him to continue performing at one of his shows. He also can be seen ‘creating the product’ of “Dem Know” with BEAM.
This song release follows Major’s announcement. He will be an opening act for YBN Cordae’s European tour.
