Denzel Curry is starting 2022 off strong with his new single today. The song “Walkin'” comes from his upcoming project called Melt My Eyez See Your Future.
On Sunday, the “DIET_” rapper posted a cryptic message via Instagram.
“Tomorrow,” he wrote underneath a picture of the single’s artwork. However, Curry did provide more details on Twitter.
Underneath an Akira Kurosawa-inspired gif, he wrote, “Tune into @zanelowe tomorrow 9:05 am pst.” He announced his project earlier this month with a teaser video. The visual context also unveiled that artists like Rico Nasty and Thundercat will be collaborating with him. Kenny Beats is in charge of the LP’s production.
He hopped on Instagram Live to give fans more insight on Melt My Eyez See Your Future:
“My inspiration behind this album, visually, was Akira Kurosawa films, like just the way he embodied things and how his films played out,” he said.
Melt My Eyez See Your Future follows his two mixtapes with Kenny Beats (2019) on Unlocked and Unlocked 1.5.
