The legendary actor Denzel Washington, who’s currently getting accolades for his star role in Gladiator II, revealed his next moves after he retires. During his recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Academy Award-winning star said he’d like to try his hand at directing. After discussing his plans with Jimmy Kimmel, he expressed his aspiration to be behind the camera.
“I have five or six great directors that are interested in working with me and I’m interested in,” Washington stated. “And after that, I’m interested in getting behind the camera. But by the time I finish all of that, I’ll be like 76, 78 years old.”
Following this, Kimmel clarified that “less acting” was Washington’s goal. The actor agreed by saying, “That’s the plan.”
The news about Denzel’s retirement arose during a sit-down on Australia’s Today show. Denzel also opened up about his forthcoming work. He gave a short breakdown of his work in the film industry before revealing the gigs he has next.
