Diddy and Jermaine Dupri intend on having a music face-off at Verzuz. But, instead of competing against each other, the hip-hop moguls will share some of their biggest hits during the night. Their appearance on Verzuz was announced after Busta Rhymes’ video post of Diddy. Busta wrote as the caption, “Sounds like we have an official date for @diddy @verzuztv @jermainedupri,” to which Diddy responded.
He proclaimed to Busta Rhymes and Fabolous, “September 8th at the Garden, n***a.”
Dupri and Diddy have been talking about doing a Verzuz since last summer. At the time, the two were hanging out when Diddy said to him, “Let’s come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta. It ain’t no Verzuz. It’s just hit for hit.”
Swizz Beats and Timbaland have yet to second this news, but others are excited for what’s to come. “This gonna be a national holiday, and I’m taking off right now,” one user said on Instagram. Another fan talked about booking a flight to see the duo have at it on the scratch tables. “Well, I guess imma be flying back to NY,” they wrote.
