According to THR, Jack Black and Ice Cube are set to star in a Sony Pictures comedy releasing next Summer. Oh Hell No, is the title which basically sums up the emotions of Ice Cube’s alleged character in the film. The film is said to be about the relationship between Black (Sherman) and Cube (Will) after Black falls in love with Cube’s mom in the film. Talk about a Oh Hell No situation!
The film will be directed by Bad Trip filmmaker, Kitao Sakurai. Sakurai did confirm the news on Instagram yesterday posting an article from Deadline. The caption read, “Ok I have a big announcement to make 🙂 About to embark on a crazy journey with @jackblack and @icecube !!!!! Thanks @sonypictures let’s do thisssssss 🔥.”
Although there is little information available about the upcoming film, confirmation that it’s on the way is all we need. THR also reported that Matt Tolmach, is producing the film through Matt Tolmach Productions with Black and Roz Music. Tolmach worked with Black on the Jumanji films. Both Black and Cube are repped by WME so it seems only natural that they’d end up working on a project together. Black last played in Jumanji: The Next Level and Cube was last seen in The High Note. I guess we will have to wait and see how this comedy film comes together, sounds like it will be a good one!
