The Will Ferrell-led Christmas classic Elf has an official IMAX re-release date. According to the movie company’s official website, Elf will only be in theaters for a limited time starting Dec. 8, 2023.
“This hilarious Christmas film tells the tale of a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts on Christmas Eve and is transported back to the North Pole and raised as an elf,” the synopsis reads. “Years later, Buddy learns he is not really an elf and goes on a journey to New York City to find his true identity.”
Elf, which debuted in theaters in 2003, is written by David Berenbaum. The movie also stars James Cann as Walter Hobbs, Zooey Deschanel as Jovie, Mary Steenburgen as Emily Hobbs, Daniel Tay as Michael Hobbs, Peter Dinklage as Miles Finch, Ed Asner as Santa Claus, Faizon Love as Wanda, Bob Newhart as Papa Elf, and the film’s director Jon Favreau as Dr. Ben Leonardo.
