The success of “Elm Street” propelled Wes Craven into mainstream success and spiraled into five sequels throughout its original run in the early 90s. Despite Freddy’s absence from the big screen since the 2010 remake, the character’s legacy lives on. The 40th anniversary and upcoming 4K release offer a renewed opportunity to reintroduce Freddy to a new generation and perhaps even spark interest in an Elm Street reboot.
