For the past several years, FX has been providing viewers with the content they know and love. From It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to the recently concluded Atlanta, FX has made a name for themselves over the past decade or so as one of the premiere networks on television. They have maintained this position by providing fans with original content that resonates with them in a unique way, so unique that it has virtually become the fiber of FX’s being. Now they’re prepared to debut season three of another very original series in Dave, the Lil Dicky produced sitcom that takes a look at what life is like for one of mainstream music’s most peculiar acts.
Lil Dicky made a name for himself a number of years ago by taking a page out of Weird Al Yankovich’s playbook, coupling hip-hop bravado with a much more down-to-earth perspective to it. In his music, Lil Dicky pokes fun at everything and everybody from the current state of rap and his opposition to himself and his unique upbringing as a Jewish man who grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Dave has been a lot of the same, with the budding new series having aired two seasons thus far as fans follow Dicky, real name David Burd, who is an aspiring hip-hop artist dead set on reaching his goals by any means necessary. Now fans are in luck as FX, or rather it’s sister network FXX, has announced an official release date for season 3 of Dave, with the first two episodes expected to air officially on April 5th. They should be especially happy about the guest appearances scheduled for this season as well, which include Demi Lovato, Machine Gun Kelly and Rick Ross amongst many others. As for what Dicky, or Dave rather, can get himself into this season, well that’s virtually anybody’s guess as plot details remain sparse, but if it’s anything close to the past two seasons then viewers are in for a treat.
Season two of Dave bolstered a million viewers per episode, which is remarkable considering Lil Dicky’s humble beginnings. While his career in hip-hop began a few years before the series even aired, Dave has propelled the rising star to new heights that see him front-and-center at the apex of the entertainment industry. For eager fans who have been patiently awaiting new episodes of Dave, you’re just in luck as season three is set to debut on FXX in about 11 weeks.
