“I hope that we will not release another feature film on Disney+. If we do more stuff for Disney+, it should be a series, and then that makes a clean demarcation between what we do for theaters and what we do for streaming”.

Before the change, Pixar’s first animated series, Win or Lose, is slated to debut on Disney+ later this year. Written and directed by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, the series will follow the lives of eight different characters as they prepare for their big championship softball game. Each episode will offer unique perspectives from various characters, including players, parents, umpires, and coaches. This series marks Pixar’s initial start into serialized storytelling, a new frontier for the animation giant.
