If you recall, Kanye West made an interesting statement back in 2019 during an interview with James Corden on one of his Airpool Karaoke episodes. Kanye Said,
“God is using me as a human being. … As humbly as I can put it, he’s using me to show off,” he explained. “Last year, I made $115 million and still ended up $35 million in debt. This year, I looked up and I just got $68 million returned to me on my tax returns.”
It looks like that impactful statement still holds true today based on his latest accomplishment as a music artist. Kanye won his 22nd Grammy award this past weekend, his first win in the Christian category. His album Jesus is King won for best Contemporary Christian Music Album. After facing much criticism, the album Jesus Is King debuted at No.1 on the Bilboard 200 upon release.
But wait, there’s more! Yesterday the Bloomberg report showed that Kanye’s latest sneaker and apparel deals with Adidas AG and Gap, Inc. are valued at $3.2 billion to $4.7 billion. Since that reporting from Bloomberg, the rapper turned Christan is reportedly worth $6.6 billion. That would make him the wealthiest African American in America. This news comes ahead of the official Gap-Yeezy release. Although these projections of Kanye come prematurely, we can certainly be sure that God is still using him in a mighty way!
