A Twitter user shared a video of James Corden filming his famous Carpool Karaoke segment with Justin Bieber—and fans were shocked to find out Corden wasn’t really driving.
The video was posted by Twitter user who said: “Saw James Corden and Justin Bieber filming carpool karaoke and this is why I have trust issues — he isn’t even driving!” depicted Corden and Bieber sitting in a car that was being towed by a truck. At the time of writing, the original tweet has more than 200,000 likes and more than 60,000 retweets.
Carpool Karaoke is a segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden, which sees Corden pick up a musician or band and “drive” them around Los Angeles while singing songs by the famous passenger.
Corden responded. “I just want to say right now that I always drive the car unless we’re doing something we think might not be safe, like a dance routine or a costume change or if I’m drunk,” Corden explained. “But in the case of Justin Bieber, it was a safety issue where we thought it was best to tow the car. Frankly, I just kept getting lost in his eyes.”
Previous guests on Corden’s Carpool Karaoke include Lady Gaga, Adele, Billie Eilish, Jonas Brothers, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Chance the Rapper, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Sia, Michael Buble, Adam Levine, Harry Styles, Selena Gomez, P!nk, Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Sam Smith, Chris Martin, Rod Stewart, A$AP Rocky, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Corden recently joined Kanye West on a private plane filled with members of West’s Sunday Service collective for a special edition of Carpool Karaoke. We definitely still find it hilarious either way and feel it should be safety first, right?
