Jay-Z is teaming up with Netflix to produce an adaption of Dwayne Alexander Smith’s novel Forty Acres.
The movie will tell the tale of a civil rights lawyer who uncovers a broad element in a story that focuses on race and power issues. The book, which carries the same name, was originally published in 2014 and won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work – Debut Author.
Smith is set to executive produce the film along with Mike Epps and others.
Previously, the Roc Nation proprietor helped produce another film run by Netflix called The Harder They Fall.
