Joe Dirrt thrives to make his music in an inspirational and honest fashion. Backed often by charged-up boom-bap and hip-hop offerings, he uses his voice for himself and the people. Joe Dirrt’s lyrics speak on societal issues that, nine times out of ten, force us to look for answers. Additionally, he talks about his former experiences, upbringing, and his undying focus. Moreover, Joe Dirrt showcases a surefire spirit toward making it in the hip-hop game.
His newest album Late Nights & Early Mornings, reflects the work he puts in for his dream. His son inspired the album. Although the title speaks volumes about his “all work and no play” mentality, the songs allow fans alike to get the gist of his daily experiences. Subsequently, Joe Dirrt delivers direct bars about his childhood, the world we live in, and his willingness to succeed. The one source that’s helped him throughout his journey is God. From “Nostalgia” to “Friday Night,” expect to feel thoroughly inspired. Sonically, the album gains inspiration from boom-bap, jazz, and hip-hop, to name a few. Some might even compare his sound to Benny The Butcher.
Joe Dirrt has been influenced by music since the very beginning. During his childhood, his mother would sing and dance. His uncle also could sing and even got heavily involved with music. In his career, Joe Dirrt has garnered fans from across the globe, scoring over 500K streams on his two projects, Dirrt Season Vol 1 (2020) and Late Nights & Early Mornings (2021).
Before hopping the booth, Joe Dirrt prefers to roll a few spliffs and listen to the beat several times. He does this because he likes to get the melody for the hook out the way. Then, Joe Dirrt builds his verse around the hook and discovers what rhyme scheme to go with. He describes his sound as a lot of gumbo and a little bit of everything.
He wants his legacy to show his work ethic.
“Nothing was ever given to me,” he adds. “I work harder than the average person to get everything I want and deserve. Even when the odds were stacked against me, I didn’t give up.”
Moving forward, expect Joe Dirrt to release two projects this year titled Money Never Sleep 2 and Dirrt Season Vol 2.
