September is officially here, and it’s safe to say 2023 has been a good year for the entertainment industry. From the abundance of new music that has been debuted this year, with more still to come such as Drake’s highly anticipated new album For All the Dogs, to the myriad of films that have hit theaters, such as the simultaneous release of Barbie and Oppenheimer this past July, 2023 could end today and still be considered a win for those at the helm of the entertainment industry. With that being said though, there’s still four months left in the year and plenty in store for consumers of all walks of life. Take, for example, the impending streaming debut of John Wick: Chapter 4 which is finally slated to be available for fans to watch beginning next week.
Originally released in theaters this past March, John Wick: Chapter 4 was the latest installment of what has become arguably one of the most iconic film franchises in recent history. In it, Keanu Reeves once again starred in the titular role as one of the most terrifying hit-men the world has ever seen who is seeking revenge on former acquaintances who essentially sealed their fates by crossing John Wick. This year’s installment certainly kept up with that theme and saw Reeves deliver another stellar performance that is seeing John Wick: Chapter 4regarded as one of the best films of this year, and now any fans who may have missed the project when it was in theaters will now have the opportunity to stream it from the comfort of their own home. John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently set to debut and be available for streaming exclusively on Starz beginning next Friday, September 15th, and eager fans can also look forward to the impending release of both the Peacock prequel series The Continental as well as the spin-off film The Ballerina which is also rumored to feature a cameo from Reeves as John Wick. As for whether or not we will see a fifth installment in the franchise, only time will tell.
Keanu Reeves had already made a name for himself nearly three decades ago when he starred in the lead role of The Matrix franchise which would ultimately become one of the most timeless franchises in all of Hollywood history, but the debut of the John Wick franchise marked a new chapter in the esteemed actor’s career. Most actors are thankful to just be involved in one film franchise on the same level as either of those, and Reeves stars in the lead role in both. The actor has certainly done a tremendous job in both roles though and makes it of virtually no surprise why either franchise has achieved the level of success they have, and it should be interesting to see what else is in store for eager fans. Until then, fans can look forward to watching John Wick: Chapter 4, whether it be for the first time or the fifteenth, beginning next Friday.
