The new story update for Jurassic World 4 teases the new film’s return to its Jurassic Park roots.
Before we dive into the details of Jurassic World 4, let’s take a quick look back at its predecessor, Jurassic World Dominion. Released in 2022, the movie was a star-studded affair with Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, DeWanda Wise, Jeff Goldblum, and more. Despite the positive feedback for the Jurassic World franchise, the film’s box office performance was subpar. Following its release, it earned $1.004 billion. On Rotten Tomatoes, it received a 29% rating.
According to ScreenRant, Jurassic World 4 will draw from the 1993 sci-fi meets adventure movie Jurassic World. However, Jurassic World 4 is said to be “a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island.”
The movie will star Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, and more. So far, the upcoming flick has two titles: Jurassic World 4 and Jurassic City, signifying that the movie will take on a new name soon.
Gareth Edward will direct Jurassic World 4, which will be shot in Thailand, Malta, and the U.K. The movie debuts in theaters on July 2, 2025.
