The late rapper Nipsey Hussle is being honored at Los Angeles’ Metro Rail station. According to CBS Los Angeles, a stop will be located in Nipsey Hussle Square via the Hyde Park K-Line. His station will serve as the ninth one along the route. These routes take passengers through some of Los Angeles’ and Inglewood’s oldest neighborhoods.
Marqueece Harris-Dawson, the city’s councilman, assembled a speech about this good news.
“From Slauson and to Vernon, you will see world-class pieces of art celebrating the history and the legacy of African American people. Everybody who comes to L.A. and rides the train out of the airport is gonna see it. Is that alright?”
This significant moment follows Dawson’s decision to temporarily shut down the popular alley close to Nipsey’s death site to decrease crime. The area will reopen within 18 months if this action is effective.
