The upcoming Bond 25 film comes through with its new MI6 007 agent, Lashana Lynch.
Years of wondering who would replace Daniel Craigs character as the british spy after his retirement has finally come to a “popcorn dropping” revelation, as the news came in that Lashana Lynch will be taking over this iconic code name.
The 31 year old, Black british actress from Hammersmith is most recognized as Maria Rambeau and best friend to Brie Larson in Captain Marvel earlier this year and her features in television shows Bulletproof, Crims, and Still Star-Crossed.
As Lynch will be workong alongside other bond women such as Brit Naomie Harries who plays as Eve MoneyPenny. Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been called to co-write the 25th installement. It’s believed that she was the women behind the jaw dropping 007 replacement choice. Bridge spoke on Bonds role being questionable, considering his reputation with women
“There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Bond is relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women. I think that’s bollocks. I think he’s absolutely relevant now. The franchise has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to his character.”
According to executive producer Barbara Broccoli, Bond is male and he will always be male. Though, Barbara did follow through with bringing more women into the story. Bond 25 has women replacing, women writing, women producing and literally women in ACTION!
According to a report in the British outlet The Daily Mail on Sunday, Lynch will play the MI6 agent who has been assigned Bond’s former number in the wake of his retirement. According to an insider on the film, which is currently in the midst of shooting, this revelation comes early on in the movie, during a scene when Ralph Fiennes‘s character, M, says, “Come in, 007,” and in walks Lynch.
Bond 25 coming soon, 2020!
