The femcee known as Trina lost her mother to cancer not too long ago. And although she wanted to mourn, she refused to. Instead the ill spitter held her head up high and performed for her fans.
On Wednesday, Trina shared a video tribute towards her mother on Instagram. Trina’s song “Mama (The One) played in the backdrop. The caption beneath the post partly reads:
“I wish I can name every single person that has been in my corner during this time, but I can’t even imagine how I would put them all in just this one post. We all grieve differently and this is the hardest loss I’ve endured to say the least! In this phase, I may even stumble a bit but I can’t let up on what I’ve built as a woman and as an entertainer.”
Additionally she sends her thank yous to artists like LaLa, Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne, Trick Daddy and Rihanna, just to name a few. But it doesn’t seem like Trina is the only one dealing with a death in the family. Lil Kim, the rap queen also revealed that she lost her father.
To the Instagram world, Kim shared a picture of herself with Trina smiling. However, in the caption, Kim wrote that while she may have looked normal, she’d just learned that her father died that day. This very caption reads:
