Since its founding virtually a century ago, Disney has managed to become one of the predominant forces in entertainment. Their massive catalog coupled with the array of acquisitions they have made over the years have garnered them massive success that only continues to grow, with one of the greatest contributors to that success being Marvel. Marvel’s array of intellectual property has taken over popular culture since the company began to revive many of its classic franchises just over a decade ago and bring them to the silver screen in an unprecedented way that has redefined superhero films altogether, and for the better. Now every production studio is capitalizing upon the newfound demand and releasing an array of both series and films annually which only further the demand and Marvel is certainly included in that. Now they are officially set to unveil the latest installment of the Doctor Strange franchise with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set to release this spring, and this week they released both the official poster and trailer for the film that seemingly included an easter egg for feverish fans.
With the first film releasing in 2016, Benedict Cumberbatch has captivated audiences for a number of years now as the titular and mystical superhero at the heart of the Doctor Strange franchise. The talented actor has appeared in countless films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe including the Avengers films as well as appeared in the most recent installment of the Spider-Man franchise which released last year, though he has yet to see a follow-up film on his behalf since. It looks like the wait is nearly over however with Marvel unveiling the official poster and trailer for the upcoming sequel project Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and both are certainly interesting. The trailer is packed with an array of dramatic cuts are certain to only leave fans more excited, and, according to ComicBook.com, the equally dramatic poster may include an easter egg alluding to a potential cameo from the beloved superhero Deadpool played by Ryan Reynolds. It looks like Marvel is pulling out all the stops given the how long we’ve wait for a sequel; further details about that can be found in their article, the poster found above and the trailer below, and fans can expect the film to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
Despite being a part of Disney, Marvel is certainly an entity in the entertainment industry in their own right and that is for obvious reason. From their incredibly successful Disney+ series to the films they continue to release annually at a feverish place, they don’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon either. Now fans can mark off their calendars and begin counting down the days until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases in May.
