In today’s era of Hollywood, new film franchises come and go oftentimes with hardly anybody even noticing. With how oversaturated the entertainment industry has become as a result of streaming, it is very easy to overlook what could potentially be a project that you’d personally enjoy a lot simply because you miss it amongst all the other options. That isn’t the case for all modern film franchises however, with some of these projects immediately leaving their mark on Hollywood with their very first film alone and using further projects to build upon their work and have it continue to resonate with fans. One franchise in particular fits that description especially well, and fans just got confirmation that a fourth film is on the way as Michael B. Jordan confirms that Creed 4 is virtually guaranteed before Creed 3 can even hit theaters.
For those who may be unfamiliar, the Creed franchise first arose in 2015 which served as a spin-off of the iconic Rocky franchise and saw Jordan starring in the titular role. While most spin-offs nowadays are very hit or miss, Creed was a surefire hit with Creed 3 set to premiere in theaters this March with the project also serving as Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut. Jordan appears just as excited as the fans about this, as he announced this week that Creed 4 is already on the way despite still being an entire month away from the debut of its predecessor. That doesn’t matter to Jordan though, who stated in an interview with IGN promoting Creed 3 that he “just [wants] to expand the Creed-verse within reason, but definitely expect other things around Creed for sure.” While he didn’t divulge what “[expanding] the Creed-verse” looked like, he did add that fans can “for sure” expect Creed 4 after the release of Creed 3 next month. With its lead actor this excited about the release of the upcoming project as well as future projects that have yet to begin filming, its virtually guaranteed that fans are in for a treat with the release of these next two projects and they can first find out for themselves on March 3rd, 2023 when Creed 3 makes its official theatrical debut.
While spin-offs have become commonplace in today’s film industry, not every spin-off sees significant success. In the case of Creed however, the success has been bountiful to say the least. It doesn’t appear as though they could’ve selected a better man for the titular role than Michael B. Jordan, and he proves that in virtually every interview with his enthusiasm and passion. It’s hard to imagine Creed 3 doesn’t live up to expectations when it debuts in March, and once fans find out for themselves they can begin looking forward to the forthcoming release of Creed 4 as promised by Jordan himself.
