After being chosen as one of XXL’s 2020 Freshman, Mulatto took the chance to debut her fourth album, Queen Of Da Souf, and lets just say it’s getting the kudos that it deserves. The 13-track effort is the first album released since Mulatto’s deal with RCA Records last year after she released her smash hit, “Bitch From Da Souf.” Queen Of Da Souf carries a slew of collabs. The artists taking part are City Girls, 21 Savage, Saweetie, Trina, Gucci Mane, and 42 Dugg on the Hitmaker-produced song, “Off Top.”
The bassy intergalactic trap offering sees Mulatto and 42 Dugg stepping out of their normal cadences. Mulatto, who uses a slight auto-tune, delivers rhymes about being a more action-oriented woman than conversational. If anyone even thinks about talking sideways, Big Latto assures listeners that she’ll “hit the bitch with the one-two.” It doesn’t matter what gender they are.
Elsewhere, the rapstress boasts about her exclusive drip, good looks, and other luxurious possessions.
“Don’t get extorted, bitch, I do extortion/Drip on a bitch, all my diamonds assorted (Ice)/My pussy expensive, boy, you can’t afford it (Uh)/Young and I’m bad, I’m saditty and pretty (Pretty),” she spits.
As the song carries on, 42 Dugg gets introduced by his signature whistle. Using a lower pitch than usual, the “Been Turnt” lyricist details his past experiences, mistrusting another person, never switching up on his day ones, and how he’s always on his P’s and Q’s. Additionally, 42 Dugg forwarns those who are want to harm him and his loved ones.
“Loyalty over royalty, I been on it/Pack ever come back light, we spinnin’/Nigga steady hittin’ my pints, he finished/Back in the day, we’d tear him through his stitches/Now every night, turn niggas to bitches,” he raps.
