The reunion party is headed to the desert.
After returning to the stage for the first time in seven years earlier this month, My Chemical Romance are reportedly set to be a part of the 2020 edition of Coachella, happening in April in Indio, California.
An official announcement isn’t expected until later in January, but according to Consequence of Sound, industry sources have confirmed the involvement of several artists. Gerard Way and company would join headliners Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and the previously announced reunion of Rage Against The Machine.
In November, Rage announced plans for their first shows since 2011. The “Bulls On Parade” band is set to play three shows near the US – Mexican border, in El Paso, TX, Las Cruces, NM, and Phoenix, AZ in March and will reportedly return to the festival they helped launch for two weekends in April.
Rage Against The Machine was a part of the inaugural edition of Coachella in 1999, and also returned and reunited in 2007 for the festival.
Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, and electronic producer Flume are also reportedly a part of Coachella in 2020.
In 2019, Coachella was headlined by Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala, featuring a mini *NSYNC reunion and a Sunday Service from Kanye West. Cant wait to see what kind of surprises we will be getting this year!
