The new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie gets an official release date. According to Deadline, the next installment of the horror series will debut in theaters on July 18, 2025. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar are expected to reprise their roles as Ray Bronson and Helen Shivers. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is set to direct the new film, while Neil Moritz serves as the producer. Meanwhile, Leah McKendrick is in charge of the script. No details about the plot have been revealed thus far.
The new I Know What You Did Last Summer will be the franchise’s fourth film. The first was released in 1997 and garnered $125.3 million despite only working on a $17 million budget. I Know What You Did Last Summer is followed by 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and 2006’s I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. The I Know What You Did Last Summer series inspired Amazon Prime Video to create an I Know What You Did Last Summer TV series in 2021.
