Nicki Minaj’s presence was missed on Sunday (June 23), at 2019’s BET Awards.
The “Megatron” rapper decided to sit this year out, but still tended to her fans via Twitter when asked personal questions regarding her relationship with . boyfriend Kenneth Petty.
When asked if her boo Kenneth is” a fan of her “Nicki Minaj” persona or solely in love with “Onika,” the Queens native responded that she has zero intentions of dating anyone else because, “I’m about to be married to my soulmate.”
According to Complex, Nicki opened up about her relationship with Petty via her Queen Radio show on Apple Beats 1 saying,”We did get our marriage license. I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.” She denied the pregnancy rumors that recently surfaced stating that having a child was her “end goal.”
Nicki’s relationship with Petty has received public backlash due to his past and being a registered sex offender. Petty spent nearly four years behind bars in 1994 due to his rape conviction with a 16-year old girl. “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, Internet,” Nicki stated in his defense. “Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”
Clearly, Minaj is sticking by her man and can care less what the public things about him. Periodt!
