The official poster for Pharrell Williams’ LEGO animated biopic Piece by Piece has arrived. The poster features a LEGO version of the esteemed singer, songwriter, and record producer. For instance, he’s surrounded by a batch of colorful LEGOs and other figurines resembling artists like Kendrick Lamar and N.O.R.E., for instance.
“Who would’ve thought that playing with LEGO bricks as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life? It’s proof that you can do it too,” Pharrell Williams captioned his Instagram post alongside the first poster for the film.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Morgan Neville, known for his extraordinary work in 20 Feet from Stardom, Piece by Piece will vibrantly tell the life story of esteemed singer, songwriter, and record producer Pharrell Williams. As The Feature Presentation’s contributor Minnee puts it, “The LEGO theme is not just a visual choice but a metaphor for the building blocks of his life and career.”
Focus Features defines the movie as “an unparalleled motion picture experience that captures the magic and brilliance of Pharrell Williams’ creative genius, one LEGO brick at a time.”
Piece by Piece boasts an impressive lineup of legendary artists, including Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, and Snoop Dogg, who lend their talent and voices to the characters. It’ll premiere in theaters on October 11th, 2024, and in the U.K. on November 8th, 2024.
