The Halloween season is upon us, and that means everybody’s favorite spooky classics are going to be making a brief comeback. Over the next few weeks, virtually every network on television will have some sort of Halloween-themed programming scheduled to get everybody into the holiday spirit. One network might have a slight edge however in AMC who is notorious for a number of classic projects they have produced with the zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead. While avid fans of the series may spend the holiday rewatching their favorite episodes, this week AMC released the official trailer for the final season of The Walking Dead which includes its official release date.
The Walking Dead over a decade ago now and has cemented its place in the legion of classic television shows. Following a group of individuals who were lucky enough to survive a zombie apocalypse that has overtaken the Earth, the series has run for 147 episodes thus far and plenty has happened over the course of the first ten and a half seasons. It is time for diehard fans to bid The Walking Dead farewell however, with the final half season, officially known as “11B,” set to air in the coming future. AMC gave those fans something to smile about this week however when they unveiled the official trailer for the final season, highlighting that tension is as high as ever amongst the cast and ensuring that this last season will be a memorable one. It additionally highlights when fans can expect it to begin airing, and season 11B of The Walking Dead is scheduled to debut on February 20th, 2022.
While some individuals may have felt lukewarm about The Walking Dead when it first debuted, the series has put together a masterful run. Most television series don’t make it past the first season and it’s considered remarkable for a show to run for over 100 episodes; The Walking Dead will be closer to 200 when all is said and done. Now all that remains to be seen is what producers have in store for the final season, and fans can find out next February when the final season of The Walking Dead premieres.
