This weekend, Remy Ma had a sit-down with HipHopDX, in which she discussed her upcoming project, Reminisce. The album is named after her daughter, who was born in 2018. Initially, Remy was going to call the album 7 Winters, 6 Summers, but the new name symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
According to the femcee extraordinaire, Reminisce is not for radio, and she explained why further into the interview. “It’s not for streams, it’s not for social media,” Remy said, “It’s for me, my day one fans and anybody that’s a fan of hip-hop and rap.”
Remy’s first-ever project, There’s Something About Remy – Based On A True Story, shot up to number 2 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums.
“I think a lot of times, we get caught up in the trends and charts,” she adds. “If that happens, great. I would love for it to be successful, but I didn’t want to go in recording it with the mindset.”
There is no release date for Reminisce as of yet.
