Ryan Reynolds’ Christmas spirit almost transferred over to a brand-new Deadpool movie.
During his marketing run for the Christmas Carol musical adaption, Spirited, Reynolds told Big Issue, that he, along with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, had co-written a Christmas movie for the Deadpool installment four years ago. But because of Fox and Disney’s partnership, it never moved forward.
“I would love to see a song and dance number in a Deadpool movie,” Reynolds said. “Four years ago, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox, and it never got made.”
“Maybe one day we’ll get to make that movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full Deadpool Christmas movie. So one day,” he continues.
The first two movies did exceptionally well at the box office. Together the films amassed $1.5 billion.
