In a short teaser video released this week, the release date for season 47 of Saturday Night Live was unveiled and fans can expect the new season on October 2nd. While they are sure to be excited at the prospect of another season of the timeless series, it is unclear who fans can expect to see in October when it hits the air. SNL staple Pete Davidson has been rumored to not be returning for the upcoming season after comments he made over the summer that the show conflicts with his personal schedule, along with Cecily Strong. Other cast members whose return has been left up to speculation include Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant, with executive producer Lorne Michaels still in negotiation with the actors. Diehard fans will just have to wait a few short weeks when the new season of Saturday Night Live airs on NBC.
Most television series struggle to make it to ten seasons, so the fact that Saturday Night Live has been on the air for 47 is nothing short of remarkable.
