The official release date for Scream 7 has been announced. According to Coming Soon, the Kevin Williamson-directed film will hit theaters on February 27, 2026. Neve Campbell, who plays Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise, also confirmed the news by posting a poster for the horror flick. The plot in Scream 7 will explore Sidney Prescott’s life, similar to Jamie Lee Curtis’ character in the 2018 Holloween film.
Campbell last got involved in a Scream film in 2022. She starred alongside Courtney Cox and David Arquette, who reprised their respective roles. The actress didn’t act in 2023’s Scream VI due to a disagreement between herself and Paramount Pictures.
The Scream team and Campbell finally found a resolution about her starring in Scream 7 following Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega’s departure from the franchise. Barrera was fired by the movie’s production company Spyglass Media because she spoke up about the Israel-Palestine conflict. Meanwhile, Ortega left because of scheduling conflicts with Wednesday‘s second season.
So far, other details have been kept under wraps for Scream 7.

The first Scream was released in 1996 and amassed $103,046,663 at the box office. It focuses on Sidney Prescott, who becomes the target of a masked killer known as Ghostface. As the film unfolds, Ghostface begins to stalk her and her friends, leading to a series of murders that change the fictional town of Woodsboro, California.
