Netflix has officially given a release date for the second season of Squid Game. A letter from the streaming platform in January revealed that the series would premiere sometime this year. However, it’s been announced that the second season will debut on December 26, 2024. Squid Game only plans to run for three seasons.
Squid Game is about a group of 456 money-hungry players who accept an odd invitation to compete in several children-based games to win 456 billion won. As time passes, however, the group discovers that each game comes with a certain risk.
The second season of Squid Game sees Player 456 searching on the hunt for the people responsible for the vicious games. He uses his money to look for the culprit, starting with the man in a sharp suit who plays ddakji in the subway. When Player 456 gets to the bottom of things, he realizes that taking down the organization is more complicated than it seems. To end the game, he must re-enter it.
The survival drama series is created by writer-director Hwang Dong-Hyu. The cast includes Lee Jung-Jae, Park Hae-Soo, Wi Ha-Joon, Oh Young-Soo, Anupam Tripathi, Heo Sung-Tae, Kim Joo-Ryoung, and Jung Ho-Yeon. Squid Games‘ second season will also include new cast members like Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an.
