Highly acclaimed producer Swizz Beatz dubbed R&B singer Alicia Keys the “female Dr. Dre“ after he witnessed his wifey create a pretty sick beat for Meek Mill. The Verzuz co-founder showed how impressed he was with Alicia’s beatmaking skills by posting behind-the-scene footage of her working on the somber trap production alongside the Philly rapper.
“Lost files @meekmill produced by @aliciakeys! Can’t lie, AK produce like any heavy producer [blowing smoke emojis] Female @drdre to be exact!” Swizz wrote in his Instagram caption. “Let’s get back to the pain and passion. Should this song drop? The finished version is crazy.”
Aside from music and her inclusion in Broadway’s Hell’s Kitchen musical, Keys has ventured into the beauty and skincare industry. Last year, the “No One” hitmaker opened her Keys Soulcare line after coming across wrinkles and fine lines on her skin. She’s also an author, having credits in her and Beatz Giants: Art from the Dean Collection. The book illustrates the power couples’ extensive art collection.
While being interviewed at the Brooklyn Museum, Alicia and Swizz spoke about why they collect art pieces.
