As the saying goes, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” T-pain must have taken the saying to heart because the Buy You A Drank rapper is no longer doing the buying, instead, he’s teaching us how to make them. The rapper announced on his social media platforms that his upcoming book, Can I Mix You a Drink: 50 Cocktails From My Life & Career is now available for pre-order. T-pain posted a picture of the book cover with the caption,
“YA BOY GOT A BOOK COMIN!!! “Can I Mix You a Drink?” Pre-order on hardcover and Kindle before it’s officially released on September 14, 2021.”
T-pain spoke with Billboard about the upcoming book, revealing that the project was years in the making. He stated, “Years back, I got up with my friend, [author] Kathy Iandoli, and told her I wanted to do some innovative s–t, so this was a concept we had in mind for a while, where I could combine my music with my love of drinking.” The book is a collaborative effort with Maxwell Britten who the rapper thanked in the interview with Billboard stating, “Mixology is complex, thank goodness for Maxwell Britten is all I gotta say.”
This news comes a week after the rapper announced his new single with Kehlani. I Like Dat featuring Kehlani is a flipped beat of Buy You A Drank and is supposed to be a females response to the rappers 2007, Buy You A Drank song. It seems the rapper is mixing more than beats these days, check out the book cover and new song below.
