The festivals theme this year is “Community First” so expect discussions of support as the goal is for change- touching topics of racial injustice and recovery from the world’s most recent pandemic.
CEO of the ABFF Jeff Friday made the announcement of the online live festival saying:
“While we will surely miss being with our ABFF community in Miami Beach this year and connecting in person, what truly binds us together is our shared commitment to ensure inclusion in Hollywood and sustaining a place of inspiration for diverse storytellers. We will persevere through this year and end up a stronger community on the other side of this crisis.”
The festival is usually held on Miami Beach and has become a platform for the Black entertainment community since 1997 bringing new talents and hard working talent the recognition they deserve in the film industry.
