The Art of Self Defense is a dark comedy centered around the character Casey who is played by Jesse Eisenberg. When Casey is attacked at random on the street he enlists in a local dojo led by a charismatic but very mysterious Sensei (Alessandro Nivola), in hopes of learning how to defend himself. What he uncovers is a sinister world of fraternity, violence, hypermasculinity and a woman named Anna (Imogen Poots, who is fighting for her place in it).
The Art of Self Defense was written and directed by Riley Stearns and is set to be released in theaters this Friday, July 12th.
