The production for You‘s fifth season has officially begun.
According to the series’ page on X, formerly known as Twitter, the new and final season of Netflix’s original series, You, is in the production stage. The news was revealed through a tweet that contained a picture of Penn Badgley, who plays Joe Goldberg in the series, walking the streets of New York City. The snapshot alone indicates that the fifth season will take place where the first season did.
Alongside the picture, a rep from Netflix wrote: “Back to where it all began. The 5th and final season of YOU is now in production.” You can find the tweet below. No other details have been revealed about the series’ new episodes.
You is about a love-crazed stalker/semi-serial killer named Joe Goldberg who gets obsessed with the women he falls for. Goldberg goes to crazy lengths to win over their hearts but oftentimes faces the consequences of his erratic actions.
This season, You stars Badgley, Madeline Brewer as Bronte, Anna Camp as twin sisters Reagan and Maddie Lockwood, and Griffin Matthew as Teddy Lockwood. The show is based on Caroline Kepnes‘ novel series, which carries the same name.
You is produced by Berlanti Productions, Man Sewing Dinosaur, and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. The show’s executive producers are Sera Gamble, Greg Berlanti, Michael Foley, Justin W. Lo, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, and Marcos Siega.
