STX production ran the Detective Pikachu screen writers new idea by Hart and the Hart Beat team with hopes that Kevin would agree to star in the new comedy slash secret superhero mash up movie, Night Wolf. We’ve got good news!
STX says that Kevins talent and style of play is the perfect filling to the character of this film. The movie follows a Meet The Parents type of comedy where the ordinary man (which will star Hart), finally meets his father-in-law, who comes out in the night time…as a super hero – The Night Wolf.
Adam Fogelson- chairman of STXFilms said “After we acquired Night Wolf, we submitted it to Kevin Hart and the Team at HartBeat hoping they would love it as much as we did. It is a big, broad comedy and the idea is great fun and perfectly matched with Kevin’s comedic talent. We are thrilled to be working on what will now be our fourth film together,”
So far, with this Night Wolf project in hand, this is Harts 3rd starring film with STX. Earlier in the year STX annouced Black Friday and another yet to be titled romance comedy with the comedian at the center of the canon.

Kevin Hart recently lent his voice to a rabbit in the animated film “The Secret Life of Pets 2″, he’s currently filming “Fatherhood” (set to realease 2020) and can soon be seen in the Jumanji sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level in theaters on December 13.
The Hartbeat Team will be overseeing the studios production with STXfilms’ SVP of Production Drew Simon.
