Marvel Studios confirmed the return of Thor at the San Deigo Comic-Con. The director of the successful 2017 Thor: Ragnarok is returning to direct the upcoming Thor 4!
Along with the return of director Taika Waititi, Marvel comic-con panel surprised everyone with the announcement of Natalie Portmans return as Jane Foster, literally giving her the iron hammer. Waititi spoke to the crowd mentioning the film writing will have some borrowed elements from Jason Aaron’s The Mighty Thor.
The 2017 prequel, Thor: Ragnarok did impressively well for the superhero franchise. Grossing over $850 million worldwide. Therefor, the return of Waititi taking on the female Thor storyline, where Jane Foster takes on the mantle and powers of Thor, maybe another promising film. Fans are already convinced with the new retro logo!
Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will also return as Thor and Valkyrie, and all other information about the film is being kept under wraps for now.
Thor: Love and Thunder will release November 5th, 2021.
