NOVA has released a new promotional for their horror film, The Monkey, which was released in theaters on February 21. In the video, a person is seen mimicking the eerie wind-up monkey while driving through Hollywood in a school bus. Onlookers are immediately startled upon spotting a group of cheerleaders with their heads chopped off. Some appear visibly shocked by the scene, while others even perform a religious ritual. The clip concludes with several individuals reacting in fear to what they’ve witnessed.

The Monkey follows twin brothers who discover a mysterious wind-up monkey, which results in a series of gruesome deaths that tear their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the cursed toy resurfaces, releasing another wave of fear and forcing the distant siblings to face their dark past. The movie is based on Stephen King‘s short story of the same name, which was first published in Gallery magazine in 1980 and later included in his 1985 collection Skeleton Crew.

Directed by Oz Perkins, The Monkey stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, Sarah Levy, Adam Scott, and Elijah Wood. The film garnered positive reviews from critics and has earned $23 million worldwide on a budget of $10–11 million. James Wan oversees the movie’s production.
