A new poster teases The Batman spin-off series The Penguin, set to stream on HBO and Max. The poster features the show’s main character, Colin Farrell, who plays the role of Oswald Cobblepot. In the picture, Farrell stands in the rain outside Gotham’s Iceberg Lounge, with the poster reading, “The next chapter in The Batman saga.”
The Penguin documents Cobb’s rise to power in Gotham’s underworld and how he cemented himself as a crime kingpin. The show also stars Rhenzy Feliz, Cristin Milioti, Michael Zegen, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Francois Chau, Carmen Ejogo, David H. Holmes, and more.
The 8-episode series is written by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, with Craig Zobel directing the first two episodes. Meanwhile, The Batman‘s Dylan Clark and Matt Reeves, Farrell, LeFranc, Daniel Pipski, Adam Kassanand, and Rafi Crohn serve as the show’s executive producers.
The Penguin is a collaborative project between 6th and Idaho, DC Entertainment, Dylan Clark Productions, and Warner Bros. Television. Later this month, a trailer for The Penguin will debut at San Diego’s Comic-Con. Fans will get to see the show’s cast and executive producers during a Hall H panel.
