After Hours musician, The Weeknd has played a part behind the scenes in Avatar: The Way of Water. Jon Landau, the producer of this second film, also verified The Weeknd’s statement on his own social media. Although he confirmed his involvement in the movie on Twitter, the singer didn’t mention what he exactly did.
Landau posted a picture of himself and The Weeknd with the caption: “As the Na’vi say, ‘Zola’u nìprrte’ soaiane Avatar’… Welcome to the Avatar family.”
The movie stars Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, and Stephen Lang.
Weaver told Variety about the movie, saying
“The story is about family, about our families trying to stay together [and] the lengths to which we all go to protect each other and protect the place where we live. It’s very much based on [James Cameron’s] family and his joy in the family, and also, how vulnerable you are when you have children.”
Avatar: The Way Of Water will hit theaters on December 16.
