The Weeknd has lent a hand to the greater good on numerous occasions. Down the timeline, he’s helped charities that helo with COVID-19 relief and racial justice causes like Black Lives Matter and Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights camp. More recently, the After Hours star has donated $1 million to hunger relief efforts in Ethiopia.
The musician announced this extraordinary news through his social media pages, urging others to take part in this opportunity.
“My heart breaks for my people of Ethiopia as innocent civilians ranging from small children to the elderly are being senselessly murdered, and entire villages are being displaced out of fear and destruction,” The Weeknd wrote.
