News of a Space Jam sequel starring LeBron James and the Looney Tunes came last summer in 2019. It’d been a while since we’d heard any updates but now we have a title and new logo from the Goat himself.
NBA star LeBron James posted a boomerang of himself rocking a Space Jam cap. The caption reads 2021 with emoji dialect that pretty much says “Bugz Bunny coming to theaters, grab your popcorn and watch the King”.

The sequel is titled Space Jam: A New Legacy. Starring LeBron James, Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green, Bugz, Daffy Duck and the other Looney Tune cartoons characters.
The new logo for the film is a nice modern upgrade from what we remember from 1996.
After 22 years Space Jam still remains a classic. The original film is still the highest grossing basketball movie to date, making $230 million worldwide it’s first year out. The animated live-action idea sparked after a popular Nike ad in 1993 that showed Michael Jordan playing basketball against Martin The Martial in some fresh J’s.
For The New Legacy, the Tune Squad recruits MVP LeBron James, Portland Trailblazers’ Damian Lillard, New Orleans Pelicans’ Anthony Davis, and Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson to battle creatures on the court in an intergalatic arena.
Directed by Malcolm D. Lee and produced by Ryan Coogler, James, Duncan Henderson and Maverick Carter. Space Jam 2 arrives in theaters on July 16, 2021!
