In a new set video for Mission: Impossible 8, Tom Cruise can be seen filming a protest in London. Cruise has been playing superspy Ethan Hunt for the past six installments and will reprise his role as superspy Ethan Hunt. The Jack Reacher has been playing the main character since 1996 and recently acted in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. Christopher McQuarrie will come back on board for directing. Filming for Mission: Impossible 8 has been on and off for the past two years.
In the video shared by the YouTube channel UnBoxPHD, Cruise and co-star Simon Pegg (Benji) hug each other and walk into a crowd. From there, the scene transitions to angry bystanders as they pump their fists. London officers can be seen in the clip holding riffles as well.
While the status of this new movie being the last in the Mission: Impossible franchise is yet to be confirmed or denied, Tom Cruise has expressed his hope for future installments, even suggesting that he would love to continue playing Ethan Hunt until he’s 80. This leaves the door open for more thrilling missions in the future.
