Two new villains have been reportedly casted in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4. According to Fiction Horizon, the web-slinging superhero will allegedly go against Vulture and Scorpion. However, Michael Keaton, who played Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, revealed in an interview that he has yet to be asked to come on board. There have also been talks about Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and Knulls appearing in the film. Knulls will supposedly have a role in Venom 3 as well.
The news about the new villain’s rumored appearance comes after Tom Holland teased a new announcement through his Instagram bio. Fans are speculating that it has something to do with Spider-Man 4. Earlier this year, the actor said a few words about the fourth Spider-Man installment during a press junket for the AppleTV+ series The Crowded Room. While speaking to Variety, he subtly expressed that meetings were being held to discuss Spider-Man 4.
“I can’t talk about that, but I can say we have been having meetings,” he stated. “We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point, it’s very, very early stages.”
Not too long ago, The Hollywood Reporter shared some deets about the film as well. As the site states, Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will assist with filming Spider-Man 4.
Destin Daniel Cretton is expected to play a significant role in the MCU. He will be involved in future projects, including one alongside Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, and is also working on a new series.
Writers from the franchise are set to return for the upcoming film, and rumors suggest that multiple creative directors will also contribute to the project. This team may include Sam Raimi, Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah, the duo behind Ms. Marvel. Other directors have also been mentioned as potential collaborators.
