The release of Universal Pictures’ Candyman has been put to a halt, presumably because of COVID-19. Candyman was supposed to hit big screens on June 12, 2020. Now, the film will debut on Friday, September 25, 2020. As of late, the forthcoming movie will premiere alongside Warner Bros.’ The Many Saints of Newark, Focus Features’ Last Night in Soho, and Paramount’s The Trial of the Chicago 7. The 2020 flick is a rendition of the original 1992 movie.
ComingSoon adds, “Oscar winner Jordan Peele unleashes a fresh take on the blood-chilling urban legend that your friend’s older sibling probably told you about at a sleepover: Candyman. Rising filmmaker Nia DaCosta directs this contemporary incarnation of the cult classic.
