Venom 2 director Andy Serkis has shared a small update regarding the blockbuster sequel.
With Tom Hardy reprising his role as journalist-turned-space-beast Eddie Brock, this one will see Woody Harrelson‘s Carnage in a much larger role, as the two characters finally trade blows. Serkis’ directorial history certainly makes him an interesting and exciting choice for the job, but what else can he tell us about the project?
In recent interview Serkis’ says, “Well, you know, I really can’t talk too much about it – I know, boring – but we’re 40 days into the shoot and it’s really thrilling. We’ve got the magnificent Tom Hardy, who’s obviously at the centre of it, and we sort of see a deepening of the relationship between him and obviously there’s a nemesis character and… that’s all I can say.”
And although it’s not the biggest update in the world, it’s nice to hear he’s having a great time working on Venom 2. While the first film was a giant box office hit, it didn’t go down as well with critics and some fans, so hopefully the sequel can improve on things a bit.
Venom 2 is expected to reach cinemas in October 2020.
