Zooey Deschanel is starring in Amazon MGM Studio’s new romantic comedy, Merv. Deadline reports that the film will be about a former couple who discover that their dog is suffering from depression. After awkwardly bumping into each other over the holidays, they bring cheer into their dog’s life by vacationing in a sunnier state: Florida.
Although there are no other details about the Merv cast yet, we do know that Jessica Swale is directing the movie, and Matt Baer and Roma Downey are producing it. Zooey Deschanel’s last starring role was in 2023’s Trolls Band Together. In 2022, she led 2022’s Dreamin’ Wild. She’s also starred in the Apple TV+ series Physical, where she appeared as Kelly in Season 3.
