Since I was young, I can remember watching a variety of animated series every Sunday night on FOX. Ranging from The Simpsons to Family Guy and virtually everything in between, the network has been host to some of television’s most timeless animated series of recent decades. A decade ago, they premiered a brand new series that is as hilarious as it is awkward and quirky in Bob’s Burgers, a comedy about a man and his family who own and run a burger shop. The concept was ingenious and the humor was refreshing, leading to the show becoming a mainstay on FOX and airing over 200 episodes since then. Now the show has plans to come to the big screen, with The Bob’s Burgers Movie set to hit theaters next spring.
Centered around the Belcher family and their beachtown burger shop, Bob’s Burgers has been making families laugh and warming their hearts for a decade straight. The family’s struggles are refreshingly funny and in a way that viewers can relate the show to their own family, despite how fictional The Belchers may be, that has led to the show’s remarkable success. With 11 seasons and 216 episodes under their belt, Bob’s Burgers is already edging its way towards being one of the most successful animated series of all time and isn’t slowing down with the twelfth season currently on the air as of this writing. They’re now adding to that with a big screen film, with The Bob’s Burgers Movie poised to hit theaters next year. Little is known about the project quite yet, however what we do know is that it will be musical in nature, as the series also tends to have its musical moments, and that series creator Loren Bouchard has promised that he and hsi team intend to “lay it all out there.” It will certainly be interesting to see, and we’ll find out for ourselves when The Bob’s Burgers Movie hits theaters next spring on May 22, 2022.
Celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year, there is seemingly no better time for The Bob’s Burgers Movie. Fans deserve a reward for loyally following along with The Belchers’ hi-jinks for an entire decade as well, and a movie is the ultimate reward. While they’re going to have to wait a little bit, eager fans can begin counting down the days until The Bob’s Burgers Movie debuts in theaters next May.
