Her next role is a great example of that as she has been cast to play legendary talent agent Sue Mengers in a new project that has production companies salivating.

Sue Mengers is arguably one of the most respected talent agents in the history of the entertainment industry, her career spanning five decades from 1955 to 1990 when she retired. The super-agent represented high-profile stars including Cher, Burt Reynolds and Steve McQueen amongst countless others, working out of esteemed talent agencies such as ICM and William Morris. Now her legacy will be the subject of a new biopic that is in the very early stages as streaming and companies bid for the rights to the project. Among those companies include Netflix and Apple, highlighting just how intense this bidding war is with rumors circulating that the bidding is close to exceeding $100 million.
Not only does this bidding war highlight the high demand for the project, but also the shift in production and distribution that is taking place in the entertainment industry. Partially inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more films are being distributed through streaming platforms either parallel with or completely in lieu of a theater release. If Netflix or Apple gets their hands on the project, it will probably be the latter and will be restricted to subscribers of those platforms.
